Description:

This online training will be delivered remotely in a modular format using pre reading and scenario based exercises, pre-recorded audio presentation by the trainer and online interactive sessions with the trainer and other delegates.

This course is multi-agency and designed for members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people and/ or their parents/carers and who potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns.

Please note that if you are booking from Education Services or from outside the Boroughs of Richmond and Kingston there will be a booking fee of £60 
 
Please note that this is a two session course - the second day will happen on the 23rd June 2021, 18:00-20:15. Please note that attending both dates are mandatory.

This course is multi-agency and designed for members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people.

  Aim:

 This training aims to support understanding of the child protection process in Kingston and Richmond. The training will explore a range of scenarios, delegates will be equipped with an understanding of child assessment and its purpose, and will have a clear understanding of timelines of an assessment and outcomes for children. Participants will be introduced to local protocol, policy and procedure to inform their practice.

  Learning Outcomes:

 This course will enable participants to:

  • Examine the thresholds and possible outcomes of child protection enquiries
  • Consider how to work together to facilitate effective information sharing in order to analyse and understand potential risk of harm 
  • Understand the factors that can affect recognition of harm and how to work with professional differences particularly when working with resistance or disguised compliance
  • Understand responsibilities in relation to participating and contributing to child protection conferences and the criteria for making a child subject to plan of protection
  Minimum Requirements:

 Participants must have completed Safeguarding Children (Level 2) course prior to undertaking this course.
