This online training will be delivered remotely in a modular format using pre reading and scenario based exercises, pre-recorded audio presentation by the trainer and online interactive sessions with the trainer and other delegates.

This course is for multi-agency staff and volunteers in regular contact or who have a period of intense but irregular contact with children and young people and/or parents/carers.

Please note that if you are booking from Education Services or from outside the Boroughs of Richmond and Kingston there will be a booking fee of £30

This course is for staff and volunteers in regular contact or who have a period of intense but irregular contact with children and young people and/or parents/carers including all health clinical staff, who may be in a position to identify concerns about maltreatment.

  Aim:

To provide an overview of local and national statistics, emerging themes and trends in safeguarding an child protection

To promote effective multi agency communication and information sharing

To consider the referral and assessment process when safeguarding concerns are identified

  Learning Outcomes:

This course will enable participants to:

    • Understand what children and young people want and need to feel safe
    • Identify some of the main signs and effects of abuse at different ages
    • Have an understanding of the importance of good interagency collaboration to safeguard children
    • Have a clear understanding of own and colleague’s roles, responsibilities and the referral process
  Minimum Requirements:

Participants must have completed Safeguarding Children Basic Awareness (Level 1) training prior to undertaking this course.
