Mental Health first Aid is an educational course which teaches people how to identify, inderstand and help a person who may be developing a mental health issue. Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an invaluable training programme designed specifically for those that teach, work with, live with or care for young people aged 11 – 18. The training provides information, tools and techniques to promote a young person's mental and emotional wellbeing and to enable participants to support a young person who might be experiencing mental and emotional distress.

Please note that this course will run over 2 consecutive days, all partcipants must attend both sessions, the second day will be running from 09:00-17:00.

This training is facilitated by Mental Health First Aid England.

 The Youth MHFA course will teach you to:

• Spot the early signs of a mental health problem in young people
• Feel confident helping a young person experiencing a problem
• Provide help on a first aid basis
• Help protect a young person who might be at risk of harm
• Help prevent a mental health illness from getting worse
• Guide a young person towards the right support
• Reduce the stigma of mental health problems

  Learning Outcomes:
 Participants will learn to:
  • Identify early signs and symptoms of mental health issues in young peoople
  • Guide a young person to access support
  • Provide help on first aid basis
  • Gain confidence in supporting young people experiencing mental health issues
  Minimum Requirements:

This is a 2 day course all delegates must be available to attend both sessions.
