  This course is multi-agency and designed for members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people and/ or their parents/carers and who potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns.

This course is multi-agency and designed for members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people.

  Aim:

This course will explore real-life scenarios, delegates will be equipped with the knowledge; understanding of child assessment and its purpose, they will have a clear understanding of timelines of an assessment and outcomes for children. Participants will be introduced to local protocol, policy and procedure to inform their practice.

  Learning Outcomes:

 This course will enable participants to:

• Demonstrate professional knowledge and understanding of what constitutes significant harm and how to identify and signs of child abuse
• Define local child protection reporting procedures
• Explain the factors that might affect recognition of harm particularly when working with resistance or disguised compliance
• Identifyhow to work together to facilitate effective information sharing in order to analyse and understand potential risk of harm
• Understand the importance of professional challenge within a safe system and how to work with professional differences

  Minimum Requirements:

Participants must have completed Safeguarding Children (Level 2) course prior to undertaking this course.
